I ran Nortons on my computer it found nothing, then I straight away ran the
trial of AVG and it found several items to be dealt with.

I am also not satisfied with NAV.
It just puts a heavy load on the system !
And When it find viruses it is unable to clean.

Any suggests?

Yes. Check out Eset NOD32 and Kaspersky.

Same here, found it in a file in my data directory. That file was part
of Logitech developer kit. Only problem is file in question predates any
version of windows, even 2.x. and wasn't an executable.
I use Avira after using Avast for quite a while. I find both very good.
I didn't like AVG as much.

AVG is know for reporting viruses that aren't there. They probably do it to
make newbies think it's better than others. NAV is far better than AVG, but
it's 'bloatware' now.

Either use NOD32 or Kaspersky.

Evidence please? Not according to the following anti-virus program
comparative report.

http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse_2006_11.php

I've not see it report false positives, but I've seen the free version
miss many malware - when installed on many machines in a sorority those
machines, all of them, during the year, were compromised by trojans and
viruses, during the same period, none of the machines with Symantec,
Norton, Mcafee, Panda, CA were compromised - most common infection
method was IM attachments/links or email attachments.

I won't use AVG anywhere.

IN my opinion, Avira Antivir is the best.

It has high malware detection rate, high proactive malware detection
ability, light on system resources etc.
