Where's my recent contacts list file?

I had a catastrophic loss of my computer, but was able to recover the C:\ HDD
where all my program information is stored. I also had a OneCare backup file
on the C:\ drive. I have been able to import an older contact list from the
backup, but the backup was over 6 months old (I had become complacent) and I
had made several major changes.

I'm thinking that my C:\ drive must contain my recent data up to the time of
the computer failure, but I've done a search for *.contact and nothing was
found.

I'm glad that I was able to recover the older contacts list, but I'd really
like to get my more recent list. Could it have been saved to a different
drive without my directing it there? Could the filenames be something other
than name.contact?

Thanks

Did you reinstall Vista on that computer? If so, and unless you
formatted the hard drive, a new install of Vista will save
all your old data in a folder called Windows.old.

If you did not reinstall Vista, then your contacts should still be in
C: \Users\username\Contacts, and your emails under
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail.
You may have to fix your Folder Options in order to see hidden files.
