where to start?

Pollywell machine with Leadtek K7NCR18D PRO2 MB.
2500 Athalon XP
SATA HD

It been down for almost a week because of no power from Hurricane
Katrina. Machine was on a surge protector.

Got power back today. When I switch on the machine I get single long
beeps every 5 seconds. That's all. No Bios info on the screen etc.
However, the fans are going and the case lights work. This MoBo has
been problematic and Pollywell replaced it on warranty earlier this year.

Any suggestions on where to start? And if I need to rebuild, any
suggestions on an equivalent board with nvidia chip.

Is it dry?
Is the power (AC) stable?

Try unplugging it from ac for a few minutes and clearing the
CMOS.

Check the battery voltage, with a mutimeter or swap in
another known good battery.

Examine all cards, connectors, etc.

By "problematic", do you mean it exhibited similar symptoms,
that it wouldn't turn on at all previously?

Check power supply voltages with a multimeter. What
make/model/capacity power supply?
