I am a newbie and would like to start learning MS AD.

Active Directory is not something that you can download. It comes as
part of Windows 2000 Server and is installed when you make a Windows
2000 server into a Domain Controller.

If you want to learn Active Directory and you have a spare machine,
you could probably acquire a time-limited copy of Windows 2000 Server
from Microsoft.
