Where to find 'stepping' and other CPU info?

In Win-XP, there must be some way to see the gory details
of exactly which processor and stepping (etc) that Win-XP
is seeing.

Taking heat-sink fans off or opening a laptop (i.e. to physically look)
are outdated, right?

(I'm trying to resolve an 'technical bulletin' issue to see if a customer's
machine's CPU matches a 'know-problem' CPU/stepping value.)

Right-clicking on 'My Computer' shows more generic info about the
processor (when I tried it on two machines here). I assumed is was
buried down inside 'Device Manager' somewhere, but I've had NO
luck finding it.

TIA...

Hello David,
You should be able to see this from within MSINFO32 under system summery.
This looks to be pulled from the registry at:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\Environment\Processor_Identifier
Thanks,

get the free Everest Home edition from
http://www.lavalys.com/index.php?page=product&view=1
which is an excellent general System Info tool, and its Motherboard -
CPU page will tell you just about everything. For Intel processors
there is also a tool you can download from Intel which may be a bit
finer detailed
