Where to find Movie Maker 2.0?

Just started editing movie files. I have Windows Movie Maker
1.1.2427.1, but gather it lacks many features now in the later
versions. It seems I cannot use WMM 2.1 without SP2 (which I don't
want as I had serious problems when I last tried upgrading). But so
far I have not been able to find a download for 2.0, which I assume
*is* OK on SP1. Does anyone know where I can get it please?

You may be able to get it here, at least that's what the caption says,
but naturally, check to be sure before installing:

There appear to be other sites as well that still have 2.0.

Do this in Google:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q="windows+movie+maker+2.0"+download

which will search for:

"windows movie maker 2.0" download

Again, be sure that any download site you choose hasn't auto-updated to
the latest MS release, but just not changed their version number on
their download page.

As I recall, you're looking for an original file creation datestamp of
Feb 2003 thru maybe June 2003. Not sure tho.

Thanks, duly found and installed last night. Working OK.

Just registered at www.windowsmoviemakers.net and studied the thread
'How to Get WMM v.2.1 without installing SP2 !' That multi-step
procedure looks rather cumbersome to me, downloading each dll and
registering them. I'm also a bit nervous about the P2P route to get
the main executable.

Given that I'm a complete novice, how significant are the improvements
in 2.1 over 2.0 please?
