Where mail is going in Outlook...

This just started happening in Outlook 2003:

When you send a new message it typically copies a single copy into the sent
items folder. Starting a week ago when I send a new email a copy goes into
the sent items and a second copy is being put into the deleted items folder
at the same time.

I have checked and there are no rules, filters or Archiving set up on the
Inbox, deleted items or sent items folder. I also ran the outlook repair
utility and nothing has worked.

Does anyone have any idea how I can stop outlook from sending the extra copy
of my newly sent email into my deleted items. THANKS!!!

How about 3rd party add-ins -- do you have any installed?

Yes - the Always BCC add-in has been on the computer for over a year (this is
the only add-in) and this just started about a week ago. When it started I
was simply cleaning up my inbox by deleting groups of email I no longer
needed. Then I noticed new email items that I had just sent were showing up
in my deleted items and sent items.

When you say you ran the Outlook "repair utility", do you mean Detect and
Repair, or the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe)?

You might also want to run the Inbox Repair Tool against your .PST file, to
see if it finds any errors. The filename for the tool is scanpst.exe. Make
sure you allow the program to make a backup of your .PST before it makes any
changes.

Mrs. Fiorello,

I tried this and it fixed three errors but the email is still doing the same
thing. Do you have any additional recommendations?

Thanks!

Let's see...maybe you should try starting Outlook once with the /ResetFolders
switch and see if that makes a difference. If you need help using Outlook
command line switches, look here:
