Where is the document map?

Where is the document map in Word 2007?

I chose the New Users forum because I might as well never have used Word
before now we have 2007.

On the ribbon, click the View tab. Then click the Document Map option (in
the Show/Hide group) to select it.

Indeed it is.

For me, finding the new buttons to click is not the difficult part. Instead,
I find it difficult to stop thinking (initially) of the old menu structure
when I'm are trying to accomplish something. In my mind, I'm still very much
working "inside the menus" of Word 97-2003. :)

Word 2007 *is* like a whole new program, isn't it? It'll take a little
time but you'll catch on. ;-)

I'm almost regretting not using more hotkeys inside of Word. I don't use
2007 much - just at home - so I'm not as proficient as I could be if I
really "worked" with it.

Not true. Seasoned users use the DocMap as it is one of the easiest ways to
navigate around big documents. I'd find editing long documents a real pita
without the DocMap and the Return to TOC commands.

I think the usability work the Office team did before deciding on
the Ribbon probably showed the DocMap was hardly used. But I may be
wrong of course.

Presumably well hidden because hardly anyone uses it.

Since it was under the View menu in previous versions and now on the View
tab, it's really not hidden at all. ;-)

But sometimes, it seems, placing an option where it can be easily seen is
the best way to hide it... :)
