where is my history and contacts

All of a sudden all of my email history and contacts are gone, what happened
and how can I get it back?
 
We don't know and you have provided far too little information for anyone to
help you.

Please advise:

which version of Outlook?
which View you are looking at and of which folder?
what did you do just before it all went away?
