where is my file? - Vista

Carol

Okay, it was a dumb oversight, but I opened a document from Outlook in Word
2007, made modifications, hit save and closed the document. Can someone tell
me exactly how to find this saved file? In XP, it would be with the temp
files. I searched what I thought were temp files on Vista, but it isn't in
the list. The computer has not been turned off, so this file has to be
hiding somewhere, but where? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Open the document again from Outlook, click Save As..., and look at where it
wants to save. It's way down under Document and Settings somewhere.

The file is probably located in a folder somewhere in
C:\Users\(youraccount)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\

\AppData is normally hidden
\Temporary Internet Files is normally a hidden protected Operating System
file

You'll have to remove the checkmark (if they're hidden) in windows Explorer:
Organize - Folder & Search Options - View
