Where do revised attchmnts go if they were not saved to a folder?

I opened an attachment on outlook, made changes to it and then "saved it"
not realizing I didnt save it to specific folder, then closed the document
and email.

Now I can not find the document I worked hours on. I tried the basic
"search" option and its not showing up. In the past I was using windows XP
and there was a long, complicated trail of files but eventually, you could
find the documents you latered but not saved to specific folder. I am NOW
using MS2007 with Vista and I cant find the trail of folders. Does anyone
know how to retriev it? Please help!! Thank you.

You should always always always always save the attachment to disk, close
the email, go to the
saved file, then open it, if you want to edit it.

The file is probably located in a folder somewhere in
C:\Users\(youraccount)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5

\AppData is normally hidden
\Temporary Internet Files is normally a hidden protected Operating System
file

You'll have to remove the checkmark (if they're hidden) in windows Explorer:
Organize - Folder & Search Options - View

Hi Dave - I found the file AppData\local\microsoft\windows but then tempoary
Internet Files\Content.IE5 is no where to be found. Any ideas!? And to
responsod to yor first comment I SHOULD ALWAYS save to a file. But haven we
all forgotten to do this before? Why does MS make this is so difficult!?
Thank you in advance for your help.
