Where do I open ports in a Win2k Pro client?

T

Tom Walker

I need to open a couple of ports on a Win2k Pro client to enable
automatic updates of a virus checker from my server on the internal LAN.

I do this on Win XP machines via the exceptions tab in Windows Firewall.

Can someone please point me to where I'd carry out the equivalent action
on the Win2k box?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There is no Windows Firewall on 2000.
There is nothing blocked.

As the other poster said, there are no blocked ports in a base install of
w2k pro.
You might take a peek at the advanced properties of the tcp/ip stack in your
network properties for Local Area Connection.
highlight tcp/ip > click advanced > Options > tcp/ip filtering> properties.
