I can open files with Word and I can use Word but there are no icons for the
program and I can't find it in my startup menu anywhere. I have searched
everywhere I know to look for it and all the other Vista programs are
available and have icons but not Word. Can someone please help me figure
this one out?

Windows (formerly Start) button - All programs - Microsoft Office (maybe) -
Microsoft Word

Right click - Send to - Desktop (create shortcut)

Or something to that effect

Search (using whatever passes for Windows Search in Vista) for winword.exe
(you'll need to tell Vista to include Hidden and System files in the
search). When you find it, right-click on the filename and choose Create
Shortcut. If this works the way Windows XP does, you'll be told that the
shortcut can't be created in the Search Results folder and asked if you want
it on the desktop. Say yes. You can then drag or copy the desktop shortcut
anywhere you want it.
