i am testing something for a customer who refuses/is unable to upgrade his
web browser.

can someone point me to a download link where i can get IE6 for Windows 2000
WITHOUT SP1 ?

Not an answer, but your customer is obviously an ostrich!

To install a version of IE6 prior to SP1 is madness, to put it
bluntly. I see no reason why you would want to forsake security, but

i'm doing it on a test image. i don't know why the customer has that version
but they are austrian and claiming that our product "freezes".
