Can someone tell me where "Programs" are in Control Panel in Vista as per
this website's directions:

http://windows-tips44.blogspot.com/search/label/Vista Speed Secret

I have a "Programs and Features" but it's not the one shown above. How is
"Programs" or this window found?

Sorry, disregard my last post.
It's exactly the same AFAIK - (don't have Vista anymore). Click on Programs
and Features and I think the Windows features is in the L/H panel...

If you read the article, it doesn't mention Control Panel at ALL. Where
did you get that from?
Follow the steps in the article.

Please see # 2 and # 3 below:

Turn-Off Un-Needed Features
at 2:34 AM · 0 comments

There are many new features in Windows Vista that are installed by default
that you may not need. These extra and un-needed features can slow down your
computer and take up more storage space. Windows Features can be
un-installed using the Windows Features utility. Follow these steps to
uninstall applications such as the Windows Fax and Scan and many more.

To Turn-Off Some Un-Needed Features:

1. Click on the Start Button
**** 2. Select Control Panel ****
**** 3. Under Programs click Uninstall a program ****
4. On the left side menu, click on Turn Windows features on or off
5. Scroll through the list as shown below and uncheck from any feature you
do not want installed.
6. Click OK when you are finished making your changes. The features will now
be uninstalled.

No, not there under "Programs and Features" in my version of VistaHP/SP/2.
This is why it is so hard to get good useful help on the web. Some
information is out of date, maybe some info is for other versions of Vista,
maybe just useless info some funny-man put online to drive people like me
batty. :)))
