When to install AV software after reformatting

Just a quick question on when it is best to install anti-
virus software after reformatting your machine. Should
one install it right after the format, or after
installing all other software? Which turns up the least
amount of software/resource conflicts?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Much of a muchness-either way should not be problematic.

Decent,quality,well-written software installs quickly and
should not cause any difficuties. It is good practice to
check installation/debug logs as routine. These will quite
often show any sources of conflicts, naming exact
programmes.if conflicts do arise,as they inevitably will
at times, notify the software manufacturers.Either party
may have a fix/will develop the product further to
improve it.

It's good to send feedback,at times!

I always install my Antivirus software anytime before I download anything
from the Internet, even before I check my email.
Here's my order:
1) Install XP
2) Install sound card driver
3) Install video card driver
4) Install network card driver
5) Setup network (XP usually does this for me when it sees the Ethernet card
during installation). All I really need to do is install my DSL Gateway and
suddenly I have the Internet.
6) Firewall network connection using XP's Internet Connection Firewall. I
could use the built-in firewall in the DSL router instead of ICF, but I
never think of it...
7) Install Printer
8) Install Office (I need Outlook because the installation keys of all my
antivirus software and firewalls are saved in email in the Outlook .pst on
my backup HD)
11) Install and configure my own firewall (currently ZoneAlarm Pro, but it
is variously Symantec, Sygate, or Kerio)
10) If all is working well, I activate XP
11) Install and configure my antivirus software (currently it's NOD32, by
Eset, but sometimes I use Symantec, AVG 7 Pro, or Avast)
11) Update XP
12 Update Office

A nice, pleasant 3 hours...
