Hello,
I hope some one can help me. I just installed Windows XP Professional
on my Laptop, and now when I start my PC it gives me a choice to either log
onto Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000 Professional. How do I get rid
of the choices, and just have it go directly to Windows XP. and when I am
shutting down the PC, how do I get the prompts from the pull down menu as
oppsed to them just being across. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Click start/run or hit the winkey+r to open a run box, type MSCONFIG and
click ok. Go to the boot.ini tab and select the line that loads XP, click
"set as default". If you removed Win2000, then click "check all boot paths"
and it should offer to remove the entry that loads it.

Control Panel/Users/Change the way users log on and log off, disable the
welcome screen to go back to the older pull down menu as opposed to the
icons.
