When shut down ..........

Hello,
When I shut down the computer,it doesn't turn off the
computer and says :
"It's safe to turn off your computer"
How can I shut down with turning off?
My computer is Toshiba notebook (Tecra)
with w2k pro.

Windows 2000 doesn't find your Tecra fully ACPI compliant. Either that or
whoever loaded Windows 2000 on your Tecra opted for a non-ACPI HAL for
whatever reason.

Are you positive that your Tecra is 100% ACPI compliant? If so, you may be
able to change the HAL your notebook is using ... search Google Groups for
the exact procedure.

Note that messing with the HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) could easily
result in your laptop being completely unusable to a point where you'd have
to reload Windows 2000 and all your software.

The "Power Opthion" menu in control panel of this Tecra is
diferent from another Tecra.It's items and tabs less than
another one.What can I do?Do you think Running "Windows
Update" is a soloution?
