apparantly an automatic system captures names off incoming and outgoing
messages. Numerous names that begin with the same letter po up over the
address area when the email is being addressed. How can I delete the ones
which are no longer vauable or even known. example. I type B, All the b's
po up, bob, baker, bill, brother, ect. ome of these have been around for years
but are now to many to ignore.

Thanks,

Although this has nothing to do with Word. Type a letter in the mail to
dialog box. While the list is open and the unwanted item selected, press
delete. The list will stay open while you delete all the unwanted ones.
Repeat for all the other letters.

And in your mail client, find the setting that adds names to the address
book automatically and disable it. In Outlook Express, for example, this is
Tools | Options | Send: "Automatically put people I reply to in my Address
Book." There's a similar setting in Windows Live Mail. It's easy enough to
right-click a message and choose "Add Sender to Address Book" when you
really want to.
