when selecting only one line to change all lines are changing???

When selecting a line to change, eg, centring or undelining, all lines that I
have typed are changing. Never seen this before and not sure what has been
changed in settings.

Thanks Jay, I figured it have to be in the syles but couldn't work out what.
This answer has saved me a lot of time and frustration as this computer is
used by many students which would obviously have caused endless problems.
Much appreciated.
