When saving as a movie the minutes keep growing...

Hi,

I have to wmv files one 30 min long and the 2nd one 15 min long. They both
play fine. I am trimming the last 15 min of the first one and joining it
with the second one. No other editing is done. When I try to save it as a
movie, wmm starts calculating the minutes and they keep on growing without
end. Left it running for over 10 hours with no progress. All other
applications in my computer were shut down. The project plays fine, just the
conversion to movie fails.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Trauton

More than likely, you have compatibility issues
with some of your source files. Have a look at

Thank you John. Unfortunately I didn't find an answer in those links. Both
files are wmv files (so they should be compatible, right?) and both play ok
independently. I tried making small edits to them and saving them as movies
independently to see if I could spot the one causing the issue, both of them
stay being processed for hours without the progress bar moving beyond 2 %.

Sorry, but I think your answer is in those links.

All .wmv files are not necessarily compatible and
just because they play in Windows Media Player
does not mean they are fully compatible with Movie
Maker.

Good luck finding a solution.

WMV files can be compressed with a number of different codecs.... some that
work with Movie Maker and others that don't.
