When replying to certain messages, the original message is compressed into small column

As the subject says, on certain emails when I reply to them, it takes the
original message and compresses it to fit a small column (it does not add a
column that I can see, it just compresses everything). An example is below.
Anyone know how to resolve this?

Example -- original text:

As the subject says, on certain emails when I reply to them, it takes the

--- when I press reply I get:

Are they html messages?

THanks for the reply. Actually I remmebered that I had saved over my
normal.dot word template earlier in the day with small columns. Did not make
the connection at first! Anyways I just fixed up the normal.dot template and
now it's fine.
