When replying, email formatting is disabled

When I reply to email from my Chinese co-workers I'm unable to change the
formatting - text font, color, etc. It seems all formatting is disabled.

Any ideas?

I guess that the message they sent to you is in 'Plain Text'

Hit the reply button and then select 'Format' from the menu, choosing 'HTML' from the drop down list.

Does that do the trick?

Hey digger. That's the thing, all options under 'Format' are disabled.

Do you really mean ALL of them? Style / Font / Paragraph will be because the format of the email is set to 'Plain Text'

Further down this list you should be able to select 'HTML'

Hi digger. Got it! Despite being gray'd out I selected "Style" and Outlook
asked me if I wanted to switch to HTML. The 'Style' graying is misleading.

That will do the trick...I assume that you have 'Personalized Menus' switched on which is why you don't see the full menu list under the 'Format' menu.
