Every time I open Excel, it tries to open a non-existent file. I have tried
to eliminate shortcuts, verify that there are no macros, and there are no
switches causing this issue. I have used Excel help to try to troubleshoot
but I still get a message during startup.

Hi sthomas

You don't give any info regarding the non existent file? Name, Extension etc.

It could possibly be trying to access an add-in

Goto Tools > Add-Ins

You then need to untick the items that can't be found (you should know this
as you get a message)

If its not that, post back
