How come when I open FP 2003 there are three windows open

Folder Lis
Web Site (Contents of ....
Getting Starte

This is extremely annoying! When I start FP2003 I just want it to open to the last web that I was working on (which it does) and "newpage" just like I had in FP2000

Oh and if anyone who answers this question works for MS... I hate the colors of the icons on the toolbars... they are too light compared to the FP200

I really don't like the look of FP2003, but unfortunately, I didn't have any say about upgrading!

Okay. let me revise my question... here

I have both FP2000 and FP2003 open on my machine

This is what I have when when I open FP2000 and I'd like my FP2003 to look the same

On the left side of the screen there is "Views" Page Folders, Repots, Navigation, Hyperlinks, Task
And new_page_1.htm is visible

Then I go to <File> scroll down to "recent webs" and choose the one that I want to work on... IF it's not amongst one of the four listed then I go to <File><Open> (and hey, what's up with that? Most of the time you can set it list the last 9 files one had opened with i.e., Word, MS didn't do that for FP? bummer because I have 8 sites that I work on!

Oh, and can I change the file location of my webs sites on my machine? I don't have them stored in "My Webs" I have them in a folder called "Web Content.

Anyway, these are other questions I would like to have answers to... You know what they say, if it ain't broken don't fix it! Like I said previously, it wasn't my choice to "upgrade" to FP2003..

I will probably be on Mr. Gates' hit list, but at the same time, I think MS wants to hear from the folks what they think of the programs..

Thanks...

First, you should always use File Menu | Open Webs / Sites, not files.

Some of the changes and menus you are seeing where implemented in FP2002. so you are two versions
back in comparing. Many of the menu designs/style are based on that fact that FP is part of the
Office Family of applications.

You either need to create folder or use an existing folder for your webs, then in FP use File Menu |
Open Sites and as long as you have the web open any pages you save or files that you import will be
placed into the current open web / site.

If you have FP set to always open the last open web / site, then you will always open to that web.

I believe FP2003 is reflecting the Windows XP interface (or are you rnning it on
Win 2000 in which case it is more like the Win 9x interface).

you can change the colours themes through right-click deskop and properties >
appearance but this is a 'global' setting and affects everything and every
application.

Regarding which windows open, is there an option under 'view' menu or something
that gives you layout options of which windows to open by default and so on?

I don't think it can open a new page and open the last web you worked on - sort
of contradictory....like in Word, it opens a blank document, not opening the last
one you had open. Frontpage 2002 opens the last web open, but you have to
manually go to file > open page.

frontpage is part of the office 2003 suite, hence the new look....plus of course
it is designed for windows xp with the new interface.
