when i press send/receive button it disappears in Outlook. I can'.

I recently bought a new computer. I set up my internet connection and then
proceeded to set up my e-mail. For some reason, even though I doubled and
tripled checked my settings everytime I open OUtlook the send/receive button
either disappears as soon as I go into the program or once I click on it to
retrieve my e-mail. When I use the test connection to send e-mail test
message, it goes to my online e-mail account but it is not downloaded from
there to outlook. I also have Internet security. Can anyone help?
 
You have to ask your ISP for the correct POP server settings. Outlook doesn't
work for web based mail--"online acct." Use your browser instead or get a POP
mail provider.
