D Dave Peterson Apr 12, 2005 #2 Does the same thing happen if you open excel in safe mode: close excel windows start button|run excel /safe If no, then it sounds like you have a "helpful" macro jumping in. Chip Pearson has some notes on how to diagnose startup errors at: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/StartupErrors.htm And Jan Karel Pieterse has more notes at: http://www.jkp-ads.com/Articles/StartupProblems.htm Following these instructions, you should be able to isolate the workbook that's helping.
