When I insert a photo, I only get a sliver - help?

I downloaded a newsletter format for Word, and now whenever I try to insert a
photograph, it only shows a sliver of the photo. Any help out there?

Yes - stop using Word for newsletters. Use a proper DTP program. Perhaps
something like, oh, let's say Publisher.

If this is a horizontal sliver, make sure that the line spacing of the
paragraph it's in is set to Single or Auto.
