when I close a document in Word 2003, the program closes

Every time I close a document in Word 2003 - File, Close - the entire program
closes. Is there a setting for this that I can change?

That's more serious than a setting problem. Either you have a corruption, or
you have some faulty code running. Try disabling any add-ins and renaming
normal.dot. If that fixes it, restore normal and your add-ins one at a time
until the problem re-appears: then you know which is the culprit. If that
doesn't fix it, reinstall Word.

Also for normal.doc, im shure you can type it into google and download one.
If all else fails , reinstall word like she said.

There is no such thing as "Normal.doc." As for Normal.dot, no need to
download; just rename the existing copy and Word will create a new one,
factory default.
