when i add a sound file, the slides won't transition?

I have my presentation all set up for my slides to transition on a timer. As
soon as I add my sound file, the slides won't transition anymore? If I
delete the sound file, they transition again?

What type of sound file are you trying to insert, and how are you inserting
it? Which version of PowerPoint are you using?
