What's with the Unallocated space

XP's Disk Management does not show the unallocated space, while 3rd party
partition software shows 10++ MB of unallocated space after the XP's
partition.

Is it ok to reclaim that unallocated space and add it to XP's partition?

Another PC has this unallocated space too.

Tks.

10+MB? I thought it was 8MB.

Maybe... 7.8MB?

In any case - not sure what you hope to do with that small bit of space.

How large is the total of your hard disk drive?

3rd party software shows 13.78MB.
The HD is 30GB, so I want to use every single and "that small bit of space".

Is it ok to reclaim that?

Was that unallocated space used by XP during the setup process?

Thks.

Some space is reserved for things such as track sparing. Depending on what
utilities are used to read the available space, this may be a part of the
difference.
Cylinders, Alignment and some other quibbles may account for the rest.
