What's the difference between unbound and bound objects?

I am trying to link a powerpoint slide to a particular record in a form. I
was recommended earlier to use an unbound object, but I don't know how I can
make that change depending on a particular field. Ex. I have part numbers
and for each different part number I want to show the associated picture for
that part. It doesn't have to be in powerpoint, but that is where it
currently resides.

If each PowerPoint slide is in its own PowerPoint file, you can use
ShellExecute to open the presentation to the right file:

You can also save the image to a graphics file and open that with an image
