Whats going on with updates

Three days ago I had my HDD reimaged with latest updates. Next day, MS auto
update drops 17 updates. Next day it drops 10 updates. Today it wants to drop
9 more.

What's going on? Where can I find a list of recent updates being pushed in
MS auto update?
 
I am still working on this (WORK IN PROGRESS WITHOUT DOWNLOAD LINKS!!)

The presario laptop had its hdd erased and reimaged at Microcenter with
Windows XP and the latest updates. This was an effort to remove two trojans.
 
Wow, nice list. This is just the last three days, right?

The auto update site says updates once a month, then whenever we feel like
it. That was fine with me, but I am suspicious that I would experience so
many updates just after a major trojan removal exercise.
 
Thaznks. You list 93 updates, which is many more than have been pushed in
the last 3 or 4 days.

I am specifically trying to determine by indirect proof is a malicious
attempt is being made through the Microsoft auto update mechanism. If you can
identify the number of updates pushed to WindowsXPHome users in the past
three days, that would really help.

When that is done, there is no updates installed. Your computer will be at a
level that the disk is at. (None are current). Therefore, after reinstalling
windows you should/must update to Microsoft's latest level.
Example: If you bought a computer 2 years ago and have a recovery CD, if
and when you use it, your computer will be at the same level it was when you
purchased it.I
 
There were only two updates in the last 3 days and they were merely
definition update for Windows Defender.
 
If you really want to be sure that you have all the updates, then I
suggest the following:

1) Restart your system in SAFE MODE
2) Launch your Windows Explorer
3) Go to: C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution
4) Delete everything from this folder
5) Restart your system normally
6) Use Windows Update again

This should double check your system an download any hotfixes that are
missing from your system.

I don't use XP Home Edition so I am afaraid I can't check it for you.
