Whats ATI's Aquivlent to Nvidias Purevideo. need some info.

And is ATIS version free ??

With Nvidias you have to buy it to get the benifits of accelerated HD
playback.

How would ATI's version work. Like if i use Media Player 10 to pay my
HD movies or videos, how do i set it up.

ATi incorporated accelerated WMV9 playback in Catalyst 5.6. It is free, and
any card from Radeon 95xx and up can take advantage of it.

To use it in Media Player 10, follow the instructions on
https://support.ati.com . Search for knowledge base article 19544. (Stupid
site doesn't allow direct-linking...)

My Athlon64 3200+ / Radeon 9800Pro runs at 20-40% CPU utilization playing
the videos here:

These are 1920x1080 at 60 fps, WMV9 codec. Not bad I'd say.
