What's a good Dup. finder for text, files and photos?

I am looking for a really good duplication finder for pictures, files, music
and documents.

In pictures it should show the 2 images and then let me delete.

I downloaded it but I have a few questions.

It apparently only checks for duplicates in the directory into which this
program is installed.

I have a number of drives and I cannot get it to go from drive C: to drive
L; for example. But I can see L, when and only if I install the MORESPACE
into drive L:

I also see no way to select the dups automatically. One has to sort through
and hold down the control key to highlight the pups and then delete them.
That is very annoying and time-consuming.

I finally do not know (since I have not tried photos yet) whether it
actually Shows both images before I delete. That is what I really would
like.

For pictures it depends on what you want to do. The above will find
true binary duplicates. If you want an application to find images that
are similar or appear to be duplicates then you need a program that can
compare images. If that is what you want post again.

Hi, Sansa User.

I downloaded that program and thank you for the hint. It seems to work just
fine for pictures.

I just would love to have ONE Program that will search Photos, documents and
files.

This one does apparently only Photos.

Indeed. My guess is that you will find it difficult to find a single
GUI program which does all of those things. May be necessary to go
for a file compare utility like Tadzio's File Compare here:
http://www.tadzio.com/tfc/index.html
(webpage in German but program supports English):

"Tadzio's File Compare 2.21 is a small, fast side-by-side file compare
utility for Windows NT and Windows 95. Character mode application,
designed as a stand-alone program or plug-in for ZTreeWin.
Sophisticated file resync mechanism, capable of comparing very large
files."

I have it installed as a standard plug-in to ZtreeWin and it works
well. It compares files in bits/bytes mode.

Thanks again for the feedback.
Since I speak and read German, I went to the website and read it all.

It seems too much of the old DOS days, which I also remember well, but after
some and long hesitation did leave behind and I do not want to go back
there either.

Nowadays the visual is king, I guess and it does make thing easier for
windows and its many programs, I guess too.
