what size or quantity does 100g refer to in paper

Paper may be classed as 100gs to what size or amount does the100gs refer to
 
100g or 100gs? Looks like the grammage or the weigth (mass) of the paper
measured as the number of gramme per square meter; usually noted as g/m² but
sometimes as gsm. The higher this value, the heavier each sheet of paper
are.
