What ports are used for Remote Desktop?

I need to connect to my PC from work and will need to open open the ports on
both firewalls at each end. I think it uses port 3389, is this TCP or UDP
and do I need to open this in both directions ineach firewall?

Q.What port does Remote Desktop use? Does everything go over port 3389?

A.Port 3389 is the only port you need to open. Windows will attempt to
stream sound through User Datagram Protocol (UDP) first. If no port is
available for UDP, sound will stream through a virtual channel in Remote
Desktop Protocol, which uses port 3389.

You need to open the port for incoming packets only and on
the host's firewall only. Instead of using port 3389, consider using
a different port in order to make yourself less of a target for
hackers. You can set the port on the host machine here. Reboot
the machine to make the change effective.

sound ok?

Are you asking what command you should use to establish
a Remote Desktop connection?
