What port does FTP use

Hi

I have an issue where I am attempting to restrict FTP useage accross out
Checkpoint1 firewall. I have restricted FTP through Checkpoint1 and it
blocks FTP access for Win9x and Win2K, but a WinXP system can access FTP
sites....

If someone can point me in the right direction??
 
FTP normally use's port 21

will need to enable on your firewall

We have port 21 disabled on the firewall for the IP address range that the
machine sits in. As I was saying a Win9x machine in that IP address range
cannot reach any FTP sites (which is what we want), but WinXP can.

sorry misread post the port number xp maybe going out on port 20 which you may need to block

also if it's ftp through the browser it can use random ports
