You can purchase Microsoft Word 2002 at your favorite store that sells
computers and/or software.

MS Word 6 and up are all compatible with XP. If you purchase "Microsoft
Works Suite 2003" (not an earlier version) it will come with MS Word 2002
http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/Homepages/SuiteProduct.asp . This is
generally the most inexpensive way to purchase MS Word as the prices can
vary from $60 - $110 USD.

As you can see here purchasing MS Word as a stand alone product is quite
expensive http://www.microsoft.com/office/word/howtobuy/default.asp
and to purchase it as part of the Microsoft Office Suite will cost much,
much more.

If you are not married to MS Word a very nice alternative, which is free, is
the Open Office suite. This is a large download so you need a fast
connection. Open Office can open, save and manage Microsoft files with ease.
Just set the Preferences to Open and Save in the MS format

Hi,
there is a page on MS's site i.e. .com, that lists
compatabilities. Sorry, I don't have te exact address at
hand but I believe you can find it through
www.microsoft.com. Good luck.
