What is wrong with this subweb?

When I publish from my local computer to a subweb on the server, I
get this error during "processing web updates".

server error: cannot create folder _vtr_cnf

The web seems to run ok but the folder _vtr_cnf is not under _private/
and _private/_discussions/ like it is on my local computer.

A search bot works until I recalculate hyperlinks. That hoses the
search bot. I can fix the search by re-publishing the subweb -- and
getting the same _vtr_cnf error message again.

Additionally, after publishing, I heed to manually edit
_private/_discussions/disc1sam_srch.htm.cnt
to correct the hit count.

The server is Windows 2000, FP 2000 extensions, I publish with
FrontPage 2000.

What might be wrong here?

Could be 2 issues
- you are close to running out of space on your server
- you have an illegal file (like a thumbs.db) in your web (delete it)

Also try running the FP cleaner to remove all web cache

Could be 2 issues

My root web and subweb are about 10 MB each. I have 300 MB available
-- so I think I am OK there.

- you have an illegal file (like a thumbs.db) in your web (delete it)

Q1 - What is a method for me to search for a file on the server from
the local client?

Q2 - What files would I look for -- other than thumbs.db?

Also try running the FP cleaner to remove all web cache

Q3 - Can I FTP fpclean.exe to the server and run it there?
(That is where I have the problem. The subweb's search works fine when
I publish it to the local client.)

Q4 - I have many copies of my webs that I have published to the local
client as backup. How does fpclean know which one to target?
