Hi:

I am trying to install the Promise FastTrak 100 DMI driver but it says that
win32sl.exe is not installed. The manual implies that this is possibly a
Microsoft OS component but I can find no reference to it anywhere. The
manual also states this is the DMI 2.0 Service Provider which I assume would
be installed by default on a W2K system.

Does anyone know what this program is and where I can find it? Promise
support has been quiet on this issue.

Many thanks in advance.

J

NayJo,

Based on our research, the root cause of the problem should be the Win32sl service stops running. It seems this service is related to some HP products, please reinstall them if possible.

After that, please go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools and then open Services item. Please find the Win32sl service and change its startup type to Automatic and restart your computer and try again.

Hope this helps,

Thank you.

I do not have any service 'Win32sl.exe' in my services. (I misspelled
Win32sl.exe in the subject line). Nor is there a 'win32sl.exe' file
anywhere on my machine. If this is a Microsoft executable, how do I install
it? Where is it found?

Many thanks,

J
