What is USN Journal

Hi.

I have 7 partitions, between 4 hard drives. When I run
chkdsk, some of them have a line that say "verifying USN
Journal".

Do I need this? What does this mean? Why not on all
partitions. How did it get there? How do I change it back
(remove this capability)

Yes, you need USN journal. This is a feature of the NTFS 3.1 file system.
No need for concern here.

Hey! I've seen this also. How come it is not on all partitions? I have 11
and only see it on 3-4 of them!
