What is the worlds best anti-virus software ?

Hello guys,

Ok, can any of you brilliant people tell me what is the best and i mean the best virus/malware/hijack removal or prevention tools available today?

Please do not say Norton..... I have had norton after norton after norton and every single version I have ever had always ends up diseasing my computer.

Microsoft Security Essentials is fine for most home PC's.

If you want to pay for AV then you can do a lot worse than ESET Smart Security.

Microsoft Security Essentials and Avast for the free ones and Eset Smart for the paid one

I used to be an Avast! fan, I thought it was perfect. It just sat there silently and it doesn't slow my computer at all, it would detect and remove the viruses and trojans found.
