anti virus, which is the best

My norton anti virus subscription expires tomorrow, and I have been
recently told it is not one of the best, having spent the last few days
looking at various anti virus programmes I am now more confused than
ever. Can somebody please tell me which is the best anti virus
programme and if possible why.

Too bad they didn't review Symantec Corporate Edition.

It was interesting to see that KAV and Norton have the best overall when
not looking at DOS viruses and that are in the very top when it comes %
of detection.
