I am using XP Home on my PC. I did a Belarc scan and it indicates SP1 on my
system. I often see folks talking about SP1a. Went to check for updates
via Microsoft update site....I get no updates recommended. Should I have
SP1a, and if so, where can I get it?

Service Pack 1a = Service Pack 1 minus the Microsoft Virtual Machine (Java).
If you already have Service Pack 1 installed, it is not necessary to install
Service Pack 1a (unless, of course, you want to lose Java capabilities until
you install another Java Virtual Machine from somewhere -- such as
www.sun.com, the creators of Java)

Thanks for the info. I have been using the Sun java applet for quite some
time, so I won't worry about SP1a.
