What is .NET Runtime Optimization Service v2.0.50727_X86?

Hi. When I go into services I see .NET Runtime Optimization Service
v2.0.50727_X86. I was wondering what it is and if I can leave it on manual.

I can't really find any direct information on it. I'v checked Microsofts
site, and it just mentions good things about it. It seems to check for "new
and exciting" updates for outlook or something like that.

Also: Can Logical Disk Manager be manual? How vital is it?

MS NET1 NET2 and NET3 seem mainly required for
(some) downloads. Many users find it practially safe either
1. To wait until some DL fails. If NET configurations are the
cause, error messages usually say so, so you can go to MS
and select what you want, then repeat the download. This
works for me (on the new 2nd PC here.)
2. Accept MS offers to update NET. This worked for me on
the old 1st PC here, i.e. no DL ever failed for outdated NET
software.

I have always updated it and let it do it's thing. I was just wondering what
it was (since I couldn't really find anything that I understood or explained
it), and if I can manual it or if it has to be automatic in Computer
Management - Services.

Thank you.
