i am running windows 98.
For some reason i can't open acroRD32- a message comes on saying-this can't
run in DOS mode?
What does that mean and how can I fix the problem

DOS--Digital Operating System, I think--is (was) the operating system
Microsoft invented for the IBM-type PCs before they developed Windows in all
its variations. It is the OS from which todays' Windows originates. Your
mouse does not work in DOS. You have to actually tell the computer what to
do by typing commands. Sounds pretty anti-deluvian but it actually worked.
Windows lets you do things in DOS (Start, Programs, Accessories, MS-DOS
Prompt, or you can start your PC in DOS). On occasion, there are things you
must do in DOS, usually when something goes wrong.
