What is correct registry keys for policies in Win XP Professional and
Windows XP Home, both?

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control
Panel\HomePage, 0, "REG_DWORD"
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control
Panel\HomePage, 0, "REG_DWORD"

Thanks.

No idea what the bit about 'HomePage, 0, "REG_DWORD"' has to do with a
general query on keys for policies but....

There are several keys that contain policies like:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Restrictions
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel

Windows XP Home edition does not support policies. There may be a registry
key for it, but I don't think it'll process it. Someone let me know if I'm
wrong about that.

Policies can have their keys just about anywhere in the registry depending
on which policy setting you're concerned with. To discover the location of
the setting that you're interested in you'll need to open the corresponding
ADM file.

From within gpedit.msc you can right-click and look at the properties of
(Add/Remove Templates) the "Administrative Templates". This will provide you
with a list of templates that are loaded.

You can locate the template ADM files by going to your command-prompt and
running "dir c:\windows\*.adm /s".

Open the ADM files with notepad and you'll see KEYNAME lines. This is where
you'll get your registry information.

XP Home will enforce the policy settings in the Registry, there is no GPEDIT interface to apply them. You need a 3rd party utility such as mine, or the Shared Computer Toolkit from Microsoft.
