what is BackWeb?

I am running winxp and when I run Spybot it shows Backweb items. When I
remove them I get a runtime error on boot re: backweb target cannot be
found. What is backweb and if not important how do I eliminate the runtime
error?

Hi,

Backweb is used by a number of manufacturers for support and other various
duties. I have never found it necessary to keep on a system, as it has been
known to include "phone home"-type utilities.

In any case, run msconfig from the start/run prompt and disable it from the
startup tab.
