What is an 'auto' version of a printer?

Attempted to share my Epson Printer connected to my Desktop computer with my
wireless connected (via router)laptop. Did not work but created 'Auto'
versions of the printer and office image writer in the Printers & Faxes
section of control panel on the desktop computer. What are they, can I delete
them ? [Have XP SP2, M Office Professional 2003 - Standard version on laptop]

The printer object in the control panel is merely a file with the machine
specs. You can delete any extra ones you want. You may want to ask this in a
hardware newsgroup. This one is devoted to the Microsoft Access database
product.
